I tried to make a thread on the video games board of 4channel asking what people want to see or what ideas would motivate Microsoft and Mojang to pursue making a faithful sequel to minecraft.
Minecraft gets modded a lot through the community and version updates, but making features that are worthy of calling something a sequel to the block game that follows in it's spirit is something I'm very interested in after the number of years that have passed to now.

NPC
Use chatgpt to give all of the human mobs personalities and dialogue and quest lines. Have players have to use real text they write to convince npcs to do what they want them to.
Use AI to have npc play the game and actually perform complex tasks like constructing villages and forts and war machines and implements and gather resources.
Physics
Make the water and lava real and scarce and have tides and waves and salt versus fresh water. Have modders make different player levels for their ability to work carry or survive and heal.
Make constructing large ships that can be sailed a thing and have npc build docks.
Make physics for structures and have cave ins and other things be based on that physics and even things like earth quakes.
Make real weather systems and have rain runofff and erosion form a map through weathering.
Story
Import maps of like the earth or lotr or hogwarts and run official scenario servers.
