Fools gold will be common, and it will have a more silvery/brownish color to it, depending on how preserved it is. Say it generates in the middle of a mountain with all sides covered, then it will be very shiny, but if it generates in a cave with one side showing it will be a little less shiny, and 2 sides showing it will be a little more dull, and 3 sides it loses shine, so its completely dull, and if the block is mined and placed again with silk touch with 4 or 5 or even all sides showing somehow (maybe you can use string?), it will be completely dull, and just look like little blotches of brownish greenish stone on normal stone. for the texture i was thinking it can look like emeralds but a little more showing, like a corner of it has been replaced with pyrite, and also its the pyrite colour based on how much its been preserved. feel free to change any of that you think. but for gold generation, make it only appear near Y level 5 to Y level -5. make it most common at 0, but still pretty rare. that will be only where its at except in badlands/mesa biomes. replace anything above or below that with Pyrite. you can make a pretty sturdy armor with Pyrite, two points stronger then iron, but its harder to craft because you need to infuse 3 raw pyrite with one iron ingot make a pyrite ingot.
