I like the look and sound effects of the vault, however I think it looks a bit odd when you use the key because it looks like you would use it upside down.

Don't know if you planned that already, but it would be nice if there was a use for excess keys

Maybe it's too obvious idea, but I think we should add this block, or its counterparts, to many other structures, not just the Trial chambers, it would add value to this dungeon, as it's the only one where you can get the key, and it would give value back to many other structures on the multiplayer  servers.

I think you should add a gamerule, which allow one player to open the vault more than one time.

I want a minecraft key to fall out of the hoard with a chance of 0.0000001%. A big and good prospect, a well-deserved reward for a player who will pass the test of this dungeon)))))

The Vault should "swallow" the Trial Key when you use it. This confirms to the player that you can only open The Vault once and it solves the problem of having a bunch of useless keys.

I am attaching a similar storage block that can be attached to a key and when attached, it can only be opened with this key

I propose to make a separate safe , but so that it would be possible to put different things like in a chest and close it with a key 9the key can be changed in crafting so that it is personal)

here’s my idea: after you open all the vaults, the keys become pointless, and so people would just farm keys at a key farm then go out looking for trial chambers and activate the vaults without trying to beat the spawners themselves because they already have the keys they need. I feel like keys need more purpose, maybe sell them to wandering traders? Also maybe make an easy way to find trial chambers so it’s easier to take up the challenge when you want to ie. eyes offender for strongholds, maybe something like that for trial chambers?

Why on earth did you add this? If players aren't sharing loot that they're taking from a chest, that's a problem their friends can fix for themselves on a server. It's not a bug, it's just player behavior. You can't fix that with a block. Making the Trial Key a tool for a "multiplayer issue" doesn't make it an interesting item worth obtaining frequently.

    — The sound design is very satisfying, and opening the vault is satisfying as a result. I love the rising pitch as you get each item!

    — As others have said, the vault does look similar to trial spawners. Maybe it could have a different colour?

    — I don't think it's entirely clear what's happening when you attempt to use the incorrect item to unlock the vault. I feel the failed unlock sound is similar to the successful unlock sound, and doesn't entirely sound like I've been "denied". Maybe the vault could shake when you try to use the wrong item, like with pots?

    — To me, it is clear now what key you need to use to unlock the vault, but this is because there's only one key. I'm not sure how the required key/item would be communicated if multiple keys are used in the future.

    — With the current spawner loot table, keys tend to build up quite quickly. Whilst their chance to appear could be lowered, I also think it would be fun if 1-2 vaults per chamber required multiple keys. Maybe they have the best treasure, and players have to build up keys over one or multiple runs to unlock them?

    — With the current vault loot table, the large amount of non-stackable items fills up the inventory very quickly. This is less of a problem with chests, because you have a chance to look at each item in the UI and swap them with those in your inventory.

Overall, this is a really fun block! I look forward to seeing how it is iterated on in the future.

I was hoping the keys would be used for something exciting like boss rooms or unique trial loot, maybe even copper golems, but this feels like it's going to be a "meh" update again. Breeze still has no drops. But at least this update is better than 1.20, as there's some actual content to play.

The problem with these vaults is that they're useless in singleplayer, and they don't give further rewards for players that want to repeat spawner combats and get more keys, which is the point of the trial chambers. I think the vaults should be repeatedly usable for one player, and they could be a source of renewable items like diamonds. Players can only use each vault block once every in-game day to prevent OP diamond farming. The vault reward should be enticing enough to encourage repeating the dungeon!

Unless the vaults and trial spawners are on every Minecraft structure, the vaults don't really solve the problem of one player getting all the loot. It's not a problem that requires solving, if on multiplayer sessions a friend keeps unfairly stealing loot, then players are better off playing with someone that shares?

I like how the vaults made sure that each player will get something by exploring the dungeon, even though it may have been "completed" by another. But we really need the vaults to be reusable by each player so the trial chambers have actual replayability, creating all sorts of minigame activities on servers.

After seeing items cycle through inside the trial vault, it gave me the idea of how it should be more roulette-like! It can provide just a little more fun and an optional challenge to get the kind of loot you want.

Can you add a new key with the old texture and add special chests to the ancient city where the Varden spawn?

About the potential high amount of excess keys: how about adding a boss mob spawner. The spawner doesn't spawn a mob without being activated by a set amount of trial keys. Like the wither, the player can choose when to spawn the boss mob. This would add some replay value to the trial chambers

I hate the new Trial Key texture. The original had much better contrast.

What if you can craft a key that can open a vault multiple times? Or each key opens a certain vault.

make it so that when player 1 opens it, player 2 doesn’t see it and won’t be able to get the loot, but only when player 1 throws out the item that fell out of the block, then player 2 can get it

What would be really interesting would be to be able to customize the contents of the safes with commands, especially for multiplayer servers. This could allow vannila servers to have the equivalent of modded server boxes, but in vannila.

I really like the concept of Vaults. I hear many people complain about the loot being to bad. I think that the vaults should unlock something that is only available in the trial chambers and players will want go and search for them. Also if that item needs to be in constant replenishment or Broke every so often, player will want to come to a trial chamber fight the spawners and try to get that special item from the Vaults.

I really like how you get to see the loot before it opens.

I do want to point out that Trial keys spawn so much more than Vaults in the Trial chamber.

Possible a new use for the keys would be good. I was thinking that Players could make a door or chest or something that could be unlocked somehow by the keys. For example you could use a trial key to unlock you Redstone door with some form of block.

It would be great if the storage key could only be used once. After all, now the player can find one key and open many vaults with it. Otherwise, the player would have to find many keys to open the vault.

I think 2 things could just add on to the vault... If it wasn't obvious enough having them in other structures would be cool, maybe some keys being craftable, the other being when you break it maybe it should drop shards or something to craft a display case which could showcase and cycle items like the vault does.

Something that a Trial Chambers Vault could do that couldn't really be done with chests is scale the loot. Since the loot for a vault is able to remember each player and who has opened it and who hasn't, it could be interesting if the loot itself actually varied based on the player. Some mechanisms that could work for this could be either getting the current player's number of enchanted tools and what tier those tools are, so that someone showing up in unenchanted iron armor would get vastly different loot than someone showing up in fully enchanted netherite, or if that's too difficult from a coding perspective, they could base it off the number of recipes unlocked in a person's crafting recipe list, since someone with more unlocked recipes is likely to have held more items from more dimensions and thus be further along in the game, so someone with only a few recipes unlocked would get lower tier loot from a vault, and someone with lots of unlocked recipes would get the most elite loot from a vault. Vaults are already locked to individual players, so it would be cool if you got better loot from them the further along in the game you are. It could add an incentive to save a vault for later to get the more elite equipment, but also still be a valuable place for early game players.

Vaults have to be reusable, otherwise it'll quickly make them and the keys useless... not sure about the necessity of items being displayed inside vaults, as item entities will cause lag. And hmm I thought this next update being advertised as a combat update would mean new weapons and gear. We need cool new loot instead of hoglins etc dropping the same leather item again, or the vaults giving saddles yet again. We can have breeze attacks as a weapon like a cool wind blade, it'd make combat more strategic. It seems like all these multiplayer talks like vaults are meant to encourage realms subscription but a simple raid boss would've done so much more on realms playtime and longevity. Also, I think adding a cool entrance on trial chambers from the caves would be really exciting.

I went to the only Trial Room that I know about in my world, but there are no vaults. Do they not spawn in existing worlds?

It is such a weird concept to have a block that has only a single, one time use in single player. Nothing more, not even decorative use. The vault just sits there for eternity, no mining, no crafting, no interaction

Depending on the final loot table, the vault could be a good way to balance the accessible loot for early to mid game. Since the trial chambers are relatively easy accessible and, thus, regular loot chest too, the vault adds at least little difficulty to get the vault loot (need to fight mob for the key). However, making the vault loot to powerful could turn out to be a short cut through early game. Nevertheless, the vault loot needs to be special or better in comparison to other structure loot to justify the existence of the vault itself. I mean no one would have deduced that a special loot container for servers is necessary if the vault loot was comparable to e.g. mine shaft loot. It seems very difficult to reach a well balanced solution here...

The difference to trial spawners is hard to spot. Maybe give the vault an easy to spot different texture (different color could be hard to see for color blind people). It's also hard to spot vaults that have not been opened
