I feel as if the player has come to a point where they are advanced enough to develop on Transportation in the late-game. The main attraction of this update would be the introduction of Steam Power. Minecarts would still remain a viable source of transportation; they just need a buff. But there have been plenty of suggestions about that that you guys can look at. In the late game, it would be nice to create Trains and steam Propelled Boats. Steam engines could be constructed via the addition of a new type of crafting bench which allows you to manufacture large items/things; such as a Steam powered Locomotive or Boat. On the topic of the Steam locomotive, they can run on the existing rails, their size would be much equivalent to a real-life Narrow Gauge locomotive. These engines could hold up to 10-15 Buckets of water, and two stacks of coal to burn for steam. For the controls, they can be quite simple. W & S can be Throttle Increase/Decrease. A & D can be Brakes Apply/Disengage. Spacebar for Whistle. B for Bell and the Lights on the engine would be manually lit with a Flint and Steel. The locomotives would also be just big enough to fit a player in the cabin. These engines could travel up to 2,000 to 2,500 blocks on a single fill of water on coal. Wagons, flat cars and Carriages can be crafted and hauled by these locomotives. Carriages are for passengers, Wagons for Ores, Cobble, Stone, etc; Flat cars for Logs, wood, barrels, etc. (I will continue in part 2 of this Post)
