Customization for Weapons, Tools, and Blocks

With armor in Minecraft you can add trims to the armor to add more customization and designs to your armor. So why can't we do that with weapons and tools? I think either we should be able to put on the already existing trims on our weapons and tools or make new ones for the weapons and tools. Having trims on tools would add more customization for the player I also think you could take customization of items to another level. Lets say your cut down a cherry blossom tree and collect its wood to make sticks instead of the sticks turning into regular oak sticks the sticks will turn into pink sticks because of the cherry wood. This would go with all woods as wells. Also lets say if you mine granite and use that to make a stone pickaxe the stone on the stone pickaxe wouldn't look like normal stone but it would look like granite. I would also like to see this with diorite, deepslate, andesite, and other stones. Also lets say you use deepslate and cherry wood sticks to make a stone pickaxe the handle on the pickaxe would be cherry wood and the stone would look like deepslate. Also if you made a wooden weapon or tool out of birch wood then the wooden item would look like birch wood. Imagine having a diamond sword with a gold trim on the blade and a yellow bamboo stick as the handle of the sword. That would be so cool. Lastly think that when you make a chest out of any type of wood the chest will look like it was made from that wood you used to craft the chest. Thats my idea!
