Being a long-time player, I always found myself in a pickle when deciding between a shield, which makes you almost impervious to any attacks from the front, or a totem of Undying, which provides a second chance at life. And, for the last nearly 8 years since the shield’s introduction, we as players have had to make this tough decision. In conclusion, I have thought of a solution. My item, the blessed shield, would be the best of both worlds. It would have a significant increase in durability, and it would be able to protect players with a wider angle than regular shields and have significantly higher knockback when hit. All while providing the protection of a totem of Undying. You are still vulnerable to attacks from behind, and will take normal damage when attacked there, but once you take a fatal hit, the shield breaks, the force of which would cause any players or mobs in a 10 block radius to be knocked back significantly. Breaking the shield will causes the same affect, though instead of just regeneration, you will also get a 5 second invulnerability window where you are impervious to attacks. The crafting recipe would, as you would expect be extremely expensive and difficult to craft. It would take a totem of undying and a shield (duh), with netherite and obsidian around it. The downside of using this item would be that it takes up a larger portion of your screen, making anything below you very hard to see.
