I hope this is a unique enough of a twist and well thought out to stand out here. Currently we have a system in place already that says "Clear, Rain, Storm". I'd like to see each biome determine how they deal with various weather types on their own. This would be the structure for adding possibly the following:
Fog - humid and temperate climates, reduces visibility. More likely to occur in the morning.
Heavy Fog - humid climates, visibility reduced further. occurs if the last weather event was a rain event and fog would be the next event.
Sandstorm - only desert climates. Reduced visibility (fog), sand particles.
Monsoon - Rare event. Desert / badlands / Jungle / savannah biomes. Heavy rain and lightning. This would give these biomes their own separate storm system, which would be much more rare. The rain texture could even be rotated to make it look windy.
Wind had been a thought, but I realized that would be way to intensive to try and force on say, a server with multiple players which would have to figure out how it affects a ton of mobs... I figure this would be way simpler, and more open to datapack makers.
