Instead of the character auto-picking up items, have a Loot Container/Box like a satchel of mini-chest to select which items to keep/leave. Loot Containers/Boxes would be created for any defeated mobs or dropped items. The way it is now you can't discard anything and run over/near it without auto-picking back up again, just to discard it again. This can be really annoying unless the inventory is already full. Having a system like this could also improve frame rates when there are lots of items on the ground in an area. Instead of the game having to display every discarded items, it could just have them in one or more Loot Boxes depending on the items distances from one another of course.
