Request for Complete PDB for Minecraft Bedrock Dedicated Server

I'm writing to suggest an important enhancement for the Minecraft Bedrock Dedicated Server (BDS): the inclusion of complete Program Database (PDB) information. This change would align BDS with the Java Edition, which benefits from official mappings, enabling deeper server modifications.

Currently, the Bedrock Edition, particularly on the server side, lacks comprehensive PDB files. This limitation hinders the community's ability to modify and understand the server's mechanics at a level comparable to the Java Edition. Given that the Bedrock server is written in C++, which compiles to machine code, the task of modification is significantly more complex than in Java. Detailed PDB information, including the structure of internal classes and functions, is crucial for advanced customization and understanding.

The Minecraft community, known for its creativity and technical skill, plays a vital role in the game's evolution. Providing detailed PDB information for BDS would empower this community, enabling more sophisticated server modifications and enhancements. This support is especially important given the technical challenges posed by C++.

In conclusion, offering complete PDB information for Minecraft BDS would greatly benefit the modding community and enrich the overall Minecraft experience. It's a step forward in nurturing the community's engagement and innovation.

    Before we think about why Microsoft is removing PDB, it's worth thinking about why Microsoft acquired Mojang. It's clear that this is an investment, and Microsoft wants to make a profit with Minecraft. As a result, Bedrock Edition came into being, unifying all editions except Java Edition, and introducing a marketplace that attempts to monopolize the way to access extended content outside of Java. But it's clear that the market is a failure, and I believe that more than 95% of Minecraft players have never spent money on the market. As a result, Microsoft began to gradually test and cut down the effects that can be achieved outside the market, with the aim of forcing players to use the market and creators to join the market. So the purpose of removing the PDB is self-evident.

    完整的PDB文件是Minecraft：Bedrock服务器社区的依赖，如果没有完整的PDB，为了能继续运营，很多服务器都会去使用一些类似nukkit的minecraft：beddrock服务端，即使这些服务端会带来不如官方提供的服务端的体验。Minecraft就是以mod而著名的，如果没有了mod,minecraft又怎么能叫minecraft呢？

    Listen, Microsoft.

    If we can't get the .pdb file back for whatever reason close to your chest (shareholders, hackers, etc.), you could at least throw the community a bone and give us a group of tools that will allow us to create a replacement for it that allows us to make our own modding API and plugins for Bedrock Edition again.

    Mods and plugins have been the backbone of Minecraft in the community for over a decade now.

    Add-ons, at the moment, do not have the amount of functionality and accessibility to the game's backend that Java Edition's available tools have (and possibly never will), making it extremely difficult to create things like performance enhancing mods (Sodium, Nvidium, etc.) or Level of Detail mods like Distant Horizons.

    Much less complicated plugins that you see on some popular Java servers.

    I could give more examples on this topic, but I would not be able to fit all of them into a single 1500 character feedback post.

    Please consider it.
