The Stack Hopper will function like a regular Hopper, only it will transfer (and pull, and push) a stack of items at a time, rather than single items.
-
Complementary Additions would also be the Stack Dropper (for transfering items upwards or dispensing them to the player) and Stack Hopper Minecart (pulls stacks of items from above containers).
Potentially also a Hopper that specializes in item filtration (will only accept items into its inventory if they match the block placed in its player interactive inventory [1 slot]), so item filtration too could benefit from this addition, as existing item filter methods cannot function with a stack hopper.
-
Reason this should be in the game is that item transfer rates are, in the case of loading items, very limited (5x hopper speed, 6x if you somehow use all sides and still have a method for collecting the shulker) and in the case of unloading items, un-necessarily complex or wasteful, either tediously stacked hopper minecarts encased in glass, or involves burning the shulker so it drops all its items at once (and had to be loaded beforehand).
-
It would also simplify item refilling (attempts to push an entire stack's worth of items into that block's inventory, refilling all available spaces), allowing farms that use items (such as bonemeal) at a high rate per dispenser to be refilled hassle free. It also saves on hoppers used, should a farm need items transferred at above a normal hopper's transfer speed, making this addition lag friendly.
