Cactus is currently the only way to make green dye. However in reality Blue+Yellow=Green, and a lot of people think that hunting for cactus is a bore. I like having cactus, there are multiple ways to make other dyes so why not have more than one way to make Green. I think it's a small improvement to make a big difference. I generally only have one cactus growing at a time because if I have to many they blocks fall onto the other cactie and destroying them in the process. This causes me to become incredibly frustrated, and the grind for Green much longer. If cactus wasn't the only way to farm Green dye than I wouldn't need to have so many cactie growing at once, and if I didn't have so many cactie growing I wouldn't always have the cactie I farm fall onto the others. I like to have my farm in a small area though, because if I make it too large then Mobs spawn in, so I always make it small enough to prevent anything from spawning inside, but that doesn't give a lot of space between the cactie growing, and destroying not only my other cactie when they fall onto them, but my other crops as well.
