In Minecraft, they could add seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Spring: During spring, the leaves on trees would be brighter, and meadows would be full of various flowers. There would be many butterflies (new mob) and bees flying around. It should rain a lot. Winter snow and ice would melt, resulting in streams of water flowing from hills and mountains.
Summer: Leaves would return to their normal color (this season would look like how many biomes already look, except for cold biomes). In cold biomes, the weather wouldn’t change significantly.
Autumn: Leaves would turn brown (except for evergreens). They could use the same animation as in cherry groves where flowers fall from trees. In this case, the particles falling from trees would be brown. Under trees, there could be a block (except under evergreens) that looks like fallen leaves (called "fallen leaves"), similar in shape to top snow.
Winter: Leaves would turn to white shades, as seen in the Bedrock Edition in cold biomes. Snow would fall. Plants would grow much slower. Plants could only be cultivated indoors. There would be fewer animals outside as they would be hibernating (perhaps they could sleep in caves).
Seasons wouldn’t occur in cold biomes (where ice would only slightly melt), deserts, and badlands biomes.
