This would be a pre-placed Chest loaded with any number of Echo Shards. Upon your death, the Chest consumes any number/quantity of Echo Shards to "yank" your Inventory into itself. Limit one Echo Inventory per player; any other you place or open will be the same interface. As items are processed, at whichever rate seems balanced, they are placed in the Skulk Coffin / Echo Chest's inventory as a Lost And Found
- Fuel: Echo Shards
- Blast Resistance: Ancient Debris
- Mining Speed: Ancient Debris
- Opening Animation; Skulk tentacles unfurling a smaller netherite/amethyst tesseract
- Sound design; a wind-chime song between amethyst tunes and skulk chirps, with a deep metal for the heavy netherite parts
- Placement; directional like Shulker boxes
- Waterloggable: no
- Transparent: no
- Mined with: Diamond/Netherite
- Hoppers: input/output
Another component of retrieving your lost gear may be that the Skulk Coffin banks/taxes some of your experience, possibly as a benefit by saving more items you might've lost after depleting its shards.
- Recipe suggestions; Netherite Ingot surrounded by skulk components to collect experience and manipulate it, possibly mixing amethyst crystal with echo shards for attunement and surrounding the chest with a "frame" in the landscape of amethyst blocks (which still need decorative variants on the double!) in the style of a Conduit being flooded and surrounded by its special Prismarine frames. A greater/more expensive Skulk Coffin frame might allow it to store more echo shards, etc
