Please change the eye placement of the armadillo back to the side of the head. The change to have them on the side looks weird and silly in a negative way.

Real armadillos have side facing eyes to watch out for predators. Considering it's mechanic of being scared by certain mobs, taking this away from it is less harmonious with the mob's characteristics.

It's also just.. much cuter on the side of the head. Please reconsider changing it, they looked perfect before :c

It looks really neat! My only criticism is that the armadillos look a bit off. Maybe its too small? But apart from that I love the functionality of the armadillo!

Well, now that we have the wolf armor, the design of the head and chest could be improved, in my opinion, and the AI of the wolf, since what would be the point of having the wolf with good protection but having it fall into the lava? or from the heights

Wolf armor should be dyeable to give players more customization options other than the collar, also please make the armadillo have its eyes on the side of its head.

Although I liked the wolf armor (Just aesthetics. The armor is still pretty useless), I found the tattoo very ugly. It looks like a mouse, or something like that, I want them to change it to more similar to the version presented in mob vote. Furthermore, in the next Minecraft Live, please share more information! This current vote was a shot in the dark, as we didn't know for sure what would happen!!!

Wolf armor needs to be dyed, a lot of people will like this idea, and more uses to the glowing ink will be to the player's armor with the trims, making them glowing, even give the player some little light!, with 2 or 3 blocks of light, every piece of player's armor will need glowing ink, and a new archievement for doing this "Shine like a starrrr" and if you have a full netherite armor, with trims in all the pieces AND if you use the glowing ink on them, a very hard archievement will be unlocked: "Bring the old to their glory days"

Please add armor trims to the wolf armor. Since the armor most likely will not be dyeable, adding trims will be a cool way to customize the armor to distinguish visually tamed wolves as they don't have texture variants unlike cats.

In 2021, Mojang announced they were going to add Fireflies to Minecraft as Frog food. They scrapped their plan when it was revealed that fireflies are poisonous to frogs IRL. Mojang opted to remove fireflies from the game entirely. Mojang is adding Armadillos as a mob in the game, with a special drop that can be used to make "armor for dogs". Armadillos are animals that can be found in southern states in the USA, such as Texas and Florida. Now, armadillos are indeed adorable animals and adding armor for dogs to Minecraft would be a useful feature for some. However, Armadillos are dangerous for humans to come in contact with. They are carriers of disease, especially Leprosy. They are so effective at carrying Leprosy, in fact, that even eating cooked armadillo meat has been known to transmit the disease to humans. Parts of an Armadillo corpse transmit the disease just as well as Live Armadillos do themselves. Adding Armadillos to the game Minecraft would help encourage children to chase after and touch armadillos and armadillo corpses in real life, greatly increasing the chances for a leprosy outbreak, since leprosy also transmits well between humans, and children have less developed immune system, increasing the disease risk any further. Mojang, please do not add the Armadillo and substitute in another animal that can serve the same purpose, like a Desert Tortoise, which is a much lower disease risk and has a hard shell much like an Armadillo!

Please rename "scute" to "turtle scute", having an item just called "scute" creates inconsistency and confusion for new players when looking in the creative menu. Like why specify the "armadillo scute" but not the "turtle scute"? Both items can be crafted into a new item, therefore, renaming "scute" to "turtle scute" just makes sense and consistency.

In my opinion the wolf armor needs to be stronger. Wolfs still die when creepers blow up.

The best way would be to make the armor enchantable (so you could bring the wolf to the nether with fire protection), but if that is not possible the armor could simply be made stronger than it is now.

The reason for introdusing wolf armor is to make it possible to bring the wolf with you, but for now the armor still seems too weak for that.

Mojang, I've said this before and I'll say it again l: PLEASE REMOVE THE ARMADILLO! They carry diseases like leprosy and spread it simply on contact. And putting part of one on a dog is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard, since 9 people contracted leprosy FROM THEIR DOGS TOUCHING/HUNTING ARMADILLOS! Even being next to some burrows that they dig can infect you! And it's not like it's some 1 in a million chance like it is with rabies and other animal-spread infections; it's almost guaranteed, and, as previously mentioned, spread on contact with them, somewhere they've been recently, or even something (ESPECIALLY DOGS) they've been in contact with. Please, replace it with the Crab, which may have been the mob that was supposed to win anyway, or switch it with a pangolin, though that comes with its own list of problems.

If you won't add sharks because a kid just mayyybe will go and find one and get hurt, then please remove a much more common threat.

Please make the armor in separate parts on the wolf, I feel like it's a better armor type of idea, similar to normal armor.

I also have an idea, where the armor can be a little bit of the same color as the collar, but that's just an idea, it will be awesome to have that.

The armadillos are great! However, I believe that the armadillos would look cuter and more realistic if the eyes were on the side of their heads like in the original design, opposed to on the front of their head.

The wolf armor works perfectly aside from the fact that you cannot enchant it like player armor. It would be super cool if I could give my pet wolves special abilities such as: Thorns, Fire Protection, Frost Walker, etc.

Apart from these two things, I truly think this update is awesome!

I think the colors are a bit off, should be brown not pink, and it's a bit too small. Other than that, it looks great!

As others said i think the wolf armor should be dyable as well as enchantable (maybe add horse armor enchant as well who knows) but above all i think the armadillo should have a mechanic similar to the shulkers in witch when they are in the closed state their defense gets a substantial buff

    • Was it easy to locate Armadillos? Yes.
    • Did you feel like you found enough Armadillo Scutes? Yes.
    • Does the wolf armor feel like it protects your wolf? Yes.
    • Does the wolf armor make you feel like bringing your wolf with you more often? Yes.

I also would like to suggest having different customization options for the wolf armor like how you would use armor trims. The recipe could be applying an armor trim to a wolf armor or surrounding the wolf armor in a crafting table with 8 ingots to add that ore to the wolf armor.

OKOK HEAR ME OUT, what if, we ask for dispensers to retain data on whoever activated it. IE if there is dog armor and sheers in the dispenser, and a dog in front of it (my dog), if a random player tried to activate it, for example press the button, nothing would happen. but if I press it, it would place the armor or sheer the armor off a dog. and if we use observers, we could make inputs on servers completely reliant on us activating it. idk this would at least bring SOME usefulness to the dogs

In the current state, dog armor feels very underwhelming. Tests with creepers show that they die by 1 explosion.

    Ideas:

    1. The simple answer to how weak the armor is, is just increasing the protection, but I have another idea. I know this might be a long shot, but adding enchants to animal armors would be such a game changer. At the bare minimum, protection would be nice. As a trade off to this, the armors could now have durability. Mending armor could work by just holding it.

    2. Please add armor trims to the dog armor, or at the very least, make them dyeable. And while on that topic, it would be nice if horse armor was updated as well with netherite + armor trims. On the topic of dyes and customization as a whole, this would be a perfect opportunity to add cauldron parity to Java.

As a whole I would update the AI of wolves, since they are notorious for falling off cliffs and running into lava.

    Armadillos:

The design is cute, but as many have pointed out, the concept looked better. I would also have them hide their heads when they’re curled up.

I’d give a cool down to how often you can brush off scutes.

In testing, it seems like armadillos are very rare. I’d like to see them spawn in badlands and deserts as well.

Spiders running away from them could be funny.

It could be interesting if they were completely invincible or have a high defense while rolled up. I don’t know how hard it would be to implement, but them rolling around while in a ball would also be cute.

armadillos are very sturdy animals and they curl up as a defense mechanism, i think the game should reflect that by making the curled armadillo invulnerable to damage like a shulker is when its closed off

I think it would be interesting for the armadillo to be more protected and have some kind of resistance when curled up in its shell, a bit like shulkers do. Since it rolls itself into a ball to protect itself from possible threats, it only makes sense for it to be safer inside.

Wolf armor is a very good concept, but perhaps you should consider adding a dye function or the possibility to add armor trims to the dog armor. Seeing there are 11 different cat skins and I think it would be fair to dog lovers to have the option of coloring or customizing more their pet's armor. The dye could be linked to the color of the collar.

The armadillo's scute dropping could be improved, to me it seems odd and a bit " cheaty " that you can spam it with the brush to get scutes. I understand that it might be useful to add a feature to the brush, but perhaps the armadillo could let the scutes fall off naturally after a while, maybe even that brushing them would speed up the process?

Also, now that there is multiple scute items in the game, please rename "Scute" to "Turtle Scute".

Lastly, please change back the eye placement to the side of the head, right now it looks quite weird and more like a mouse, and perhaps make the armadillo a bit more brown, I think it looked better in the concept art.

Thank you for taking the time to read, much love to the team!

I think the Armadillos are easy to locate and will most likely encourage players to use their wolves more, however:

The Armadillo should have the eyes at the side of their head rather than the front. I think that when the Armadillo rolls up into a ball then it should take less damage. I also think that the Scutes should have a cooldown when brushing them off but also drop when they grow up - similar to Turtles.

The Wolf Armour should be more powerful since they can still die too easily but use durability instead. If you could dye it then that’d also be cool.
