Basically make things like Cobblestone Bricks crack, once in awhile break, or if it is close to something like a jungle or forest biome it should grow some vines on it (this applies to every block that has a cracked block item). Not to mention tree's should regrow once in a while, they should grow plant other saplings and basically spread.
