The Tinkering Table would be a new block for 1.21 which would allow the user to change and 'Tinker' with parts of their kit, including their weapons and maybe even their tools.
Maybe a new resource could be added, something which you need to 'Tinker' with objects.
This basic concept can go anywhere, but here are some ideas I came up with:
Weapon Tinkering
this allows the player to change aspects of the weapons they hold, example:
A Sword might be able to have multiple attributes changed into different tinkered forms
Maybe you can make a Sword heavier, allowing for slower but stronger swings while nerfing durability or knockback
Or maybe you can make it super light, allowing much faster but weaker attacks with much more KB (like 1.8)
Maybe you can turn weapons into double handed weapons, meaning no shield but a large boost in damage. Allowing you to create variations on the same weapon would bring new life to combat
Tool Tinkering
In a similar vein what if we could do the same but for tools?
Maybe you can make a pickaxe that is only good at mining deepslate but cant mine ores
or have an axe that cuts down trees easier with more durability but in exchange for much less damage
Maybe you can modify a hoe into a scythe for more combat options
the possibilities are endless, the simple concept of a tinkering block could be a small fun addition to a game changing one depending on how you go with it
which is why i think it should be in 1.21
