I saw the Trial Key, and remembered that there is old code in the game to lock chests with a "key" item via commands. This got me thinking, "why can't we lock chests and doors", with a craftable Copper Key? The key could be a stackable "blank key" until used on the chest of door, at which time will change to a non-stackable "chest key" or "door key" with their coords saved as nbt data on said key.
Furthermore, this new "key" could be copied using a "blank key" along with it in a shapeless recipe. This would be great for Adventure Maps, where key items are often levers, tripwire hooks or other items like color wool. This would also be good in survival multiplayer, letting players lock their stuff in a safe location, though a thief could just break through.
