Green wood has been a feature people have wanted for years. We don't have many green building blocks, and it would be a blessing to plenty of builders if they got a green-variant of wood planks. My idea is using the Yellow-poplar trees as the wood, and the Stony Slopes Forest as the biome.
Yellow-poplar trees (Liriodendron tulipifera) are a kind of tree that has a variety of different wood colors, most notably, green. In the game, the trees could have a range of different shapes and colors. For ex., a version with yellow leaves, growing as big as a large oak tree, or the shape of a skinny spruce tree. Another version could have the appearance of an oak tree, but with yellow flowers—like the azalea with its pink-flowered leaves. The wood appearance itself would be like acacia on the outside, but be an olive-green hue on the inside.
In real life, Yellow-poplars can be mostly found "on the mountain slopes of North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia." (US Forest Service). Introducing, the Stoney Slopes Forest biome. This biome would sometimes be located next to a Stony Peaks biome (near the lower-half). Each biome would spawn one type of variation of the tree, as how the yellow-poplar forests look like irl. The mob spawning would be tricky, as most animals who live in those forests aren't in the game, so Mojang can be creative with handling that.
That's my idea on how green wood could be implemented in the game. Thank you for taking time to read my suggestion :)
