Copper Grate should let bubble columns flow through it.

With the addition of Copper Grates in the new 1.21 update coming next year, I think that it would be useful to allow bubble columns/water elevators to pass through them. This would help especially if 1 - You wanted to make a stopper so you can choose a floor to stop at. 2 - You could make a mechanism below it to switch out either soul sand or magma blocks to control whether you want to go up or down. 3 - You won't take damage when you get to the bottom of your bubble elevator from the magma block.

Overall, I believe that the feature I am proposing would be extremely helpful as bubble elevators are currently the most easy, fast, and accessible modes of vertical transportation, and this feature would make them more configurable.

    I agree, having copper grates allow water bubble flow to pass through but not mobs would be a big quality of life improvement for vertical transportation of players, villagers, and other mobs. Players and mobs getting hurt with a magma bubble elevator is a problem.

    It would also provide a unique way to keep water from freezing in typical farmland irrigation systems without the dangers of falling in. No more random torches or fires all over your farmland. For a less practical, but still visually pleasing use, one could make a bubbling hot tub this way.
