Wood Stripping and Glass Stairs and Slabs

I was thinking: What if we collected Bark Shards from the Stripped Wood and used that to make sticks or use that in the crafting recipe for shields! Feed them to goats to breed them! As for the Glass stairs and slabs, what if we had those in glass, concrete, and metal? Same for doors! When people build a store, they want working glass doors that aren't powered by pistons and redstone, and what about a way to lock the doors?
