Jute or Reeds in Swamps

I think a great addition to swamps and wetlands in a future update would be a 2 or 3-block tall reed type plant, such as Jute, Cattails or Tule. A plant that grows in small to medium groups in and around shallow water (1-2 blocks deep) could be a small addition that adds a lot of depth to the water-scape in the swamps and wetlands. A reed type plant could also be an interesting crafting material, but I wont speculate here about possible uses (except for rope ladders that drop down from the top as you place them for fun caving infrastructure).
