Based on the McMurdo Dry Valleys, this would be a "Frozen Desert" type biome; it would also have no life, just like the real life Dry Valleys. However, in Minecraft (being a creative game), I have a concept for what dry Valleys in a game like Minecraft would look like: there would be alot of gravely landscapes with ice and snow scattered around areas, and massive mountains made up of gravel and gneiss (a new stone type/variant which can offer more building veriety), with ice and snow scattered on the upper areas. In normal deserts, there's sand which is a block that can fall. In the dry valleys, sands counterpart would be gravel (gravel is present in the real life Dry Valleys anyways). There can occasionally also be fossils found in this biome, whether sticking out from the ground or just lying around. This biome would offer another source on obtaining bone blocks, alongside being a biome where no NATURAL life lives.. however, I think strays spawning here (possibly skeleton or "stray" horses and mabye even a new stray type mob to throw into the mix) would be a great idea when it turns night, to give this biome an even more unique feel. To sum it up, this new biome would be a Frozen variant of deserts, which no life spawns on (at day...), it would be cold and snowy, made up of gravel, gneiss, ice and snow (powder snow too), and fossils can spawn here. Strays only spawn at night (no other mobs unless new stray variants are added such as stray or frozen zombies). Thx 4 reading..
