New Netherite Block mechanic

It seems to me that the netherite block is quite useless and it is unlikely that anyone will want to use it not only in survival, but also in creative mode.

So I suggest the following mechanics. 

Netherite blocks can make any nearest blocks blastproof and protect your home from any explosions

  The Netherite block’s main purposed is to serve as netherite storage, being a block that hold netherite. In my opinion, this seems rather useless as netherite is so hard to get. Also this can be done with obsidian.

  i think that might make the blocks a little too overpowered tbh
