The redstone threshold can be set to a certain value between 1 and 15, and when it receives a redstone signal that is greater than or equal to the set value, it will output a redstone signal of 15. Now I know that you can replicate this function by using a redstone repeater and 1-15 redstone dust, but that method can take up at most 15 blocks of space. That is why the redstone threshold should be in the game, because it adds a more compact alternative to using a repeater and redstone dust.
