IT WOULD BE GOOD IF YOU REVERTED THIS AND THE COPPER BULB TO BEFORE, SO THEY ARE UNIQUE.

How about an automatic stonecutter by using Bedrock’s old stonecutter from v0.6.0? It could be retextured and have Redstone uses!

All we want is for the crafter to be as fast as it used to be. Everyone was super hyped for the crafter and copper bulb but after y'all changed them because of a FALSE bug report, everyone either doesn't care about the update anymore, or they're upset. REVERT THE CHANGES TO THE COPPER BULB AND CRAFTER

I feel like restricting the Crafter and Copper Bulb timing to be consistent with existing Redstone components reduces their potential and limits the creativity of the Redstone community.  These are new blocks that already function in completely new ways.  The timing they had prior to 23w46a made them even more useful.

I'm hoping there's a very good technical and game stability reason for doing this, otherwise it feels like it's being forced to conform to an arbitrary standard at the expense of creativity and fun.

The changes made to the crafter and copper bulb in 23w46a are, quite frankly, awful. If I’m understanding this right, they made them more “conventional” and removed all the cool secondary uses that made them special. Everything that makes the target block a great redstone tool, they removed from the crafter and the copper bulb. These changes should be rolled back ASAP

    • How do you feel about the comparator signal used for the Crafter?
Signal of 9 is straightforward, but it makes advanced use harder. It's easier to manipulate signal of 15 for advanced applications, and signal of 15 doesn't hurt general players: you can just make the line longer :) . Also this is a parity issue: all other containers with GUI output signal strength of 15 when full.

    • In general, how do you feel about the use of toggleable slots with the Crafter -  is it easy to understand how to toggle the slots?
      Yes and it's good.

    • What do you think of the Crafter visuals?
I like the goofy looking on crafter just like observors etc., but it's a bit too complex for a minecraft redstone component.

    • Is the visual feedback when the Crafter is powered and in use easy to understand?
      Yes.

    • What do you think about not having the recipe book in the UI like with the crafting table?
It's good and it should be this way.

    • What do you think about the recipe used to make the Crafter - is it well balanced?
I'd like to see copper involved in crafter crafting.

    • Do you feel this block is accessible for non-technical players? If not, how would you improve that?
Crafter is as accessible as dispenser. Redstone has always been for players with some level of technicality, it can't and shouldn't be stonecutter level accessible.

About the "nerf": I think it's necessary bug fixs, but I do believe we should have game tick level redstone control. Please make it possible in a later version through intended game design.

What if you select the recipe you want the crafter to make? That way you don’t have to always have 2 recipes ready to be made. Also maybe a 3-second delay between crafting??

It would be useful to have a 'lock' button on Minecraft's automatic crafting table. This button would lock an item in each selected slot, ensuring that the Crafter continues producing without unsetting when empty. This way, there would always be an item remaining in each slot , and when the block was replenished again, it would produce again, never leaving its slots empty. This would make the player's life easier, eliminating the need to constantly reconfigure.

It would be interesting if we could lock the block, so that no more items could enter it. Sometimes, the player may start feeding the block, and when he needs to stop it in the middle of production, to change the slots, he will need to break the system. Instead, it would be cool if it were possible to lock the block, so it no longer receives resources, and the player can change

An automatic activator for the Crafter would be interesting. This activator would only attempt to produce items when all slots were filled. This would prevent the Crafter from doing crafting prematurely and making wrong itens

I think that this is AMAZING! It could help with gold farms greatly. Since Zombified Piglins only drop golden nuggets, I think it would be cool if you could use it to auto craft gold ingots or golden carrots.

We could put an item IN the crafter in a seperate box and it makes it that it can only craft the item

Hi I'm part of the redstone community and I'm here to say I looking forward to use this block but can you revert the change that makes the crafters drop as slow as a dropper or dispenser, in my opinion its better when its faster so please change it back, we the redstone community will appreciate it :) also bring back crafty crafter counters

Replace the iron in the crafter recipe with copper. Iron has so many uses currently, making the resource very strained especially if you are doing redstone often. Copper, on the other hand, is often criticized as an item as a "useless" item. Using copper in the recipe helps give it a new use and also a new identity. This can also open up copper to be used in other recipes in the future in similar items. I mainly am looking forward to seeing more uses for copper as it is an item that is very easily obtained but feels lacking in use.

I think that the auto crafter block is an amazing addition for redstoners and high level automation enthusiastics, and I wouldn't want to change it, but I think another type of crafter block could be added to accommodate all types of players. One that works just like a normal crafting table except while inside of its interface the items that it uses in its recipes aren't just from what you, the player has in their inventory, but rather the crafting block could pull from certain types of container blocks within a 5-10 block radius to use while crafting, so as not to clutter up the players inventory with scrap crafting components that they would then have to sort back into their storage systems.

Maybe this is more of an inventory update idea... Idk

    • Do you feel this block is accessible for non-technical players?

The point of the crafter is to automate crafting, and in its current state in 24w10a, it requires a large machine to be build around it to time item deposition, which sadly makes it more practical for non-technical players to just use the crafting table.

    • If not, how would you improve that?

I know it may not feel very Minecrafty, but to have a "cementing" system would remove the need for a large machine behind the crafter and would make the auto crafter more practical for the average player. It would look like this:

A player inserts the correct item into the correct places which they would like the crafter to craft, and then the player clicks the "cementing" button on the side of the UI. And now, a faded version of the items placed will appear in their cemented slots even after the items are removed from the crafter.

And now, that pattern of items in slots is engraved into the crafter!

Here's how it works: If a hopper has an item which happens to appear in the pattern cemented in the crafter, it will deposit that item where it appears in the pattern.

And players, hoppers, and droppers will not be able to place items in a slot that has a different item cemented in it, (and they can't place an item in a slot with nothing cemented in it)

This basically forces hoppers dropping items in the crafter to be forced to make a very specific pattern

Also, the crafter will not be able to craft unless the pattern is met

    Pls add, User10

The crafter should use copper in its recipe instead of iron. Iron already has a million uses (not literally), yet copper is almost exclusively used for building. It would be nice for copper to be used more often in redstone crafting recipes.

I have no complaints about the Crafter. I just wanna have it sooner so that I can start making Redstone Warehouses in my world. How long do we have to wait till we start the Crafting Revolution in Minecraft? I want it now!

You should be able to set each slot to only fit one item. Every time it crafts, the slot is set to that item. If the set slot is emptied, then a translucent image of the item stays there until you click the empty slot, or put something else in it.
