Increase bulk crafting speed on touch controls

Since 1.20.30, crafting has been much slower on touch controls, at only 4 items per second, compared to before the update when you could long press to craft a full stack much more quickly. I'm not necessarily suggesting a return to that system - but there must be a better balance of precision and speed. Right now it can take up to 16 seconds to craft a stack of items, depending on the recipe - please fix this.

One option could be to let players tap to craft faster, as right now if you tap too quickly it will not register the input. Of course, any form of improvement would be much appreciated.

    Eliminating any sort of bulk crafting ability has made playing on mobile nearly unbearable. I craft most things by the stack. In a more extreme example, turning a chest full of bones into bone blocks takes 16 minutes of long holding the item output slot, plus handling time. We need some way to craft an entire stack of items in under 5 seconds, 16 seconds is too much given the volume of crafting many of us do.

    Please please please provide us a way to bulk craft. Doesn’t have to be full stack, but it is unbearably slow now.

    Please bring back the long-press to craft a stack or make it MUCH faster for a long-press. Crafting a stack of anything is TOO slow now!

    I think we should AT LEAST have a setting where we can adjust how fast the long press crafts a single item, like maybe there could be a slider to adjust the amount of time it takes.

    A simple fix could be to add a second button to the crafting output GUI that would function in the same way as the Shift key on a keyboard. One could then press only the original crafting output button to craft slowly at the current rate, or press both output buttons to craft everything in the grid almost instantly (ie the previous long press rate of crafting).

     

    Edit: also if anyone is looking for a temporary fix, you can get a Bluetooth keyboard and connect it to your phone/tablet, then click on item you want to craft, press Shift on keyboard and tap on crafting output on the touch screen at the same time. Your items will then be crafted at the previous rate (almost instantly).

    I was just trying to process a stack of bamboo blocks into planks and stopped half way out of frustration Im not even at mid game crafting yet. The touch controls have definitely gotten worse with this "feature" I hope they add a setting or something

    This is desperately needed, crafting items in PE is unbearably slow. Long pressing used to craft a stack but it does not anymore, not sure why they changed it.

    How about if there is a option to choose between the Slow or Fast Bulk Crafting...

    This is sorely needed for touch users, as noted bulk crafting is very slow. What's odd is that the stonecutter isn't - bulk stone cutting is far quicker.

    I'd go for any of 3 options:
    1) A setting to control speed
    2) A button/option on the GUI to toggle between single/bulk
    3) Changing the long press to function similarly to the long press for item selection which allows stacks to be split. So creating a bar to allow selection of how much of a stack should be crafted (rather than split).

    Crafting in this game on mobile has become a bit tedious due to slow crafting, wished something can be done because crafting kelp blocks and bamboo takes too long for such simple tasks. Wished they could bring back the old crafting method

    Please change this! I am disabled, play from bed using an iPad, and being unable to craft stacks of anything quickly is really hindering my gameplay. I’m already slower than I’d like to be because of needing to use touch controls, and now it feels like a further handicap handed to me. Please at least make the option to fast craft :( it’s not fair that other players get this ability and I do not.

    I have now been struggling immensely because of this change. I finally got a villager trading hall set up, and had made an auto bamboo farm specifically to turn the bamboo into sticks to trade with a fletcher. I have since abandoned the trading hall entirely because crafting of any sort to trade decent amounts takes over an hour.
