In my opinion, villagers in Minecraft are slaves and as Mojang is working on experimental changes for villagers, I wanted to state my opinion on villagers. I believe Mojang should add an improved happiness system for villagers. If a player keeps a villager trapped in a box, they will be unhappy, but if they are given space to roam and have freedom and sunlight, they will be willing to trade. I suggest that if villagers have enough space to roam, have freedom and sunlight, they can make trades cheaper as an example. Abusing villagers instead will make villagers make trades expensive and sometimes refuse to trade. Villagers could also make trades cheaper with gifts and if they receive some protection and they will get annoyed but minecart or boat transport. This will prevent villager farming and make it more normal. To balance this, villager trades could have improvements and villagers could spawn more Iron Golems for protection, and gifts could be given by them if you protect and help their village. Instead of transport, maybe make new villages form instead. A nice feature that could be added is a method of village fast travel as different villages have different trades. This system could also become more of a game, where you could protect a village and get rewards and it can be fun. I believe these changes could greatly improve the current system. However, this could only be for new villages or worlds as this may be controversial.
