Mapmakers behold! My idea for hitbox blocks!
Hi, first time posting here and therefore I want to do it properly. What if you could place down custom hitboxes (similar to barrier blocks, in combination with light blocks).
That is what I asked as well, and therefore I came up with the following idea: Since we all know how the light block operates, you place it down, and click it again to change its blockdata to change the light level.
Now what if you could do that to a barrier block?
You place down a hitbox block (new block) and you can click it a bunch of times to change its actual hitbox (like the debug stick/light block). You can change the size of the hitbox from 1 (full block) to 0.1 and change its rotation in degrees of 22.5 degrees (like Java 3D models).
The benefits:
+ Custom hitboxes for custom blocks
+ Ability to make smooth barriers to where you do not get stuck
The downsides:
- When rotated, block might overlap with others
- No clue if this is performance heavy
Curious to what the rest of the community thinks of this.
