It would be a nice augmentation for Tamed Wolves if they had a small Tamogotchi-like augmentation...Tamed Wolves need your attention for which there are positive and negative consequences.
When a Tamed Wolf picks up a Wood Block dropped as an item (or any Wood derived dropped item), that means it needs your attention. If it nudges you, the same. Playing with your Tamed Wolf has a chance to raise its loyalty score which determines what it will do.
If you fail to pay attention to your Tamed Wolf it will eventually lose its loyalty and grow more wild. It may attack a Chicken or a Sheep temporarily granting itself a little boost in morality. If it kills three times out of neglect it will become fully wild.
To play you right click your Wolf who is holding a Stick or with a Stick and it will enter Fetch mode. If you throw the Stick it will retrieve it. When it is done playing it will drop the Stick randomly. Completion of a play session earns a boost in its loyalty score.
Over time the loyalty score will slowly decay.
If a Tamed Wolf is near to going wild it will not defend a Player when attacked. A very loyal Tamed Wolf will get critical strike damage when defending their Player.
