Using Copper to Create Potions with Positive then Negative effects

Placing Copper as a brewing ingredient would turn the potion(s) in the Brewing Stand to versions that start out super strong with the shiny Copper, but as it oxidizes over time and disrupts your body function the effect would change to a very negative one.

For example, using Copper on a Potion of Strength 2 (1:30) would first grant Strength 3 for 30 seconds, then Strength 2, 1 and Weakness 1, 2 and 3 in order, all for 30 seconds. This way you would get 1:30 of superstrength fighting but another 1:30 where you are very weak. The weakened period would also not be able to be rebuffed with Strength until it stops.
