So, the experience bar in Minecraft is only used for enchanting. but I think it should be a leveling system for player stats. how I see it is the more experience you get the more powerful the player gets. after getting enough experiences you can get effects like strength and resistance it could also give a survival friendly use for the heath boost effect. the only problem is that after getting like 27130 experience points you just become too powerful so there should be a cap between 100-150 experience points. this will also give you even more consideration for enchanting and could make Minecraft more of a survival game.
