Please. Never has this been as big of a problem as it is now.
Minecraft has been known as a notoriously laggy game since it's first few ambitious updates. You need a computer with a performance far above what many people can afford. And with every update, with every world generation revamp, with every new block, entity, you name it, the game becomes laggier and laggier.
In the near future, Minecraft will only be able to sell to a very narrow demographic, limiting player counts and pushing people away from the base game, purely because the game's requirements are becoming so insane to the point where a laptop from 2022 can run a singleplayer survival world at 2 FPS max.
1.21 should be the Performance Update. On Bedrock? The Parity Update.
Trust me. As bold as this statement sounds, you should make a poll on Twitter asking people if they want 1.21 to be an update centered around optimizing the game as much as possible. I am 100% sure that people would take this over any major content update.
