My suggestion regards how the player access the End. This dimension (undoubtedly in need of an End Update) was created back in 2011, as the name suggests, as the last challenge for the player, and for a long time this was the case.
But now, after numerous updates Minecraft had changed a lot, and more difficult adventures/challenges are present after exploring the End, i.e. Bastion Remnant, Ancient Cities.
So, my radical idea is to change how the player access the End: by the "portal" in the Ancient Cities instead of the Stronghold!
And how the player does it? By going to the Stronghold as usual, but instead of the portal the player will fight a mini boss and with the item dropped, activate the portal in an Ancient City.
Why this makes sense:
-It creates a more elaborate gameplay, encouraging adventure and exploration
-It's more challenging and more fun! A lot of player complains that the game is not hard enough
-It adds to the lore of the game. Both Ancient Cities and Strongholds were inhabited/created by and ancient civilization, so it makes sense that are linked somehow
-One more reason to visit Ancient Cities
-Possibly a new mini-boss to fight to progress in the game.
I truly believe that my idea could balance the gameplay and extend the fun and playtime of a lot of players, giving them a new adventure and a new challenge. This idea also allows to better integrate what is new and old in the game, and make the Minecraft experience that we all love more cohesive and interconnected.
