The Deep Dark Dimension would be similar to the Overworld in that it would have a surface and underground part and that it would have day and night. Daytime would be as dark as the Overworld's night and last 20 minutes. Only passive and neutral mobs spawn during the day. Many of the mobs that spawn during the day would be bioluminescent. This would make the days- although dark- pretty and even slightly peaceful feeling.
However, nighttime, which would also last for 20 minutes, would be nearly pitch-dark and very deadly. Your render distance would be restricted to 2 chunks and there would be dark fog all around you. Deadly mobs such as the warden would spawn or be spawned by sculk shriekers, which would rise out of the ground at nighttime. If you do not get near a light source at night, you would get the sculked effect which would slow you down and eventually kill you.
In the Deep Dark Dimension's Cave systems you would find many ores like iron, diamond, and coal ore as well as some new ores. The stone in the Deep Dark Dimension would be called sculkstone or gloomslate. The new ores you could find would be echo ore and ancient ore. Echo ore would drop 3-7 echo shards and ancient ore would drop raw ancient are. This could be smelted to make ancient crystal, and these could be combined with echo shards to make an ancient ingot. Ancient ingots could be combined with Netherite armor in a smithing table to make ancient armor, the new strongest armor in Minecraft.
