Description:
In Minecraft Feedback Addons, we propose adding a new functionality that allows modellers to attach animations to a player's hands using custom attachables.
Problem:
Currently, numerous modellers use player.json as attachables to enable players to use two hands and models for items. However, this approach presents several issues:
-
Inconvenient item editing: Modellers have to edit player.json when modifying items, which complicates the development process and requires additional efforts.
-
Performance impact: As the number of items (textures and models) increases, the game's performance decreases, negatively affecting the players' experience.
Solution:
We suggest implementing a feature that enables modellers to attach animations to a player's hands using custom attachables. This will simplify item editing and improve the game's performance.
Benefits:
-
Enhanced editing process: Modellers can easily attach animations to hands without modifying player.json, streamlining the development process.
-
Improved performance: Utilizing custom attachables allows for more efficient resource management, reducing the game's load when using numerous items.
-
Expanded possibilities for modellers: Introducing this functionality will broaden creative options for modellers, leading to the creation of more diverse and captivating modifications.
We are confident that such an update will prove valuable to the entire Minecraft community, fostering diversity and quality in modifications.
