I think this change makes sense, though I must admit that I'll miss typing "ick" when I need to craft sticks followed by a pickaxe, since both contain "ick". ⛏️

Se comparar o tamanho do braço do player na 1 pessoa e menor na versão bedrock comparado com a versão Java, além disso deveria ser possível colocar os itens que são possíveis colocar na segunda mão na versão Java já que na bedrock somos limitados a totens e escudos

I think the recipe book option should already be enabled because many players who are not aware of the novelty could create worlds without first activating the recipe unlocking

I wish it was possible to search for main articles with the magnifying glass, similar to the Java edition, where the player can search for "#flowers" and see all the flowers that can be collected in the creative

    1. I do like the change with the first words only being searchable but for Waxed Lightly Weathered Cut Copper Stairs I feel like only the ‘Copper’ and ‘Stairs’ words should be searchable. Since this would be a pain to implement I will say I don’t believe that the change will affect that many blocks so it’s fine either way. Overall it is easier to find things.

    2. I feel like when searching it should only show the recipes you unlocked. If I have specifically have the toggle enabled then I feel like I should only have the recipes I unlocked in search. Turning the toggle off allows players in existing worlds to not have to deal with not knowing recipes or being able to easily craft anything. It would also prevent new players from accidentally getting overwhelmed my new blocks. I also think it should be enabled by default to prevent this issue for new players.

To get parity, just because of limitations in Java, there is no need to make Bedrock worse, which is quite a lot in 1.20.2x, it can update java to bring into line with bedrock for some. On these questions...
Do players feel they can find the recipes they are searching for?
Yes, there is a huge community of minecraft players with a large majority still in the early stages of spelling. Typing Tor, and seeing Comparator is not a bad thing, if I type Compari I would end up with zero results because I spelt the search incorrectly. Members young and old benefit from the currently excellent search. Mojang provides updates to minecraft to add extra items, the exposure to these items is enhanced when you can actually see all items, and increase the exposure.
Do players get overwhelmed with too many options rather than finding the ones they were searching for?
Not at all, with nearly all items the old method of searching allows a unique way to find items, with very few search terms will you actually find the search overwhelmed, the new method would be a regression.

I'd like to at least see a toggle between "Match Beginning of Word" and "Match All", as an option. If you wanted to search for red and have Redstone items appear, it wouldn't show Block of Redstone, since it doesn't start with red.

    To answer your two questions:

    • Do players feel they can find the recipes they are searching for?

Yes. I personally can find what I want quite easily with the current search. It will be a bit of a learning curve to change to search only the beginning of a word.

    • Do players get overwhelmed with too many options rather than finding the ones they were searching for?

I don't, however I definitely feel like my children get overwhelmed when they can't find something specific. My older kids have learned to type in a specific part of a word. This is the reason I personally like to have the ability to search using any part of the word, not just the beginning. Typing on PC is easier to search, however  when I'm on my phone, I would prefer to search within the entire name, rather than just the beginning, as I can quickly type a few letters as a shortcut to what I want to have appear.

Typingin WOL gets me the wolf spawn egg. I really don't want to type SPAWN WO and have to manage my way around all those extra characters (especially on a phone/tablet)

I think it should be a togglable option when searching sometimes you need to look by groups Copper & Wax Copper and rarely are you in a rush to look up a recipe so a more in-depth interface(s) would be handy.

It would also be handy to toggle on/off having the recipe book fully unlock at the start of the world, which would help with custom recipes added in by data packs. Or making it so data pack recipes are automatically unlocked in the recipe book would be a significant improvement.

Otherwise, a UI recipe book for all work blocks would be handy to see their inputs and outputs with some basic info. For brewing a strict unlock step for each potion would be cool.

I like all the changes especially the searching one
But I think showing recipes players havent unlocked yet kinda cancels the whole idea of recipe book.
It's better to be identical to java editing in this.

    This is awful.

Where did the idea that players are overwhelmed by the number of options come from? I've never heard this from anyone I know. This is like going back to the 1990s search functionality, when we had to use wild cards. It was novel then and but makes no sense now.

As for searching only unlocked items...whats the point? All of the recipes and items are documented on the internet, so why make someone leave the game to find it, or find out how to unlock it?

I do not like this at all, the recipe book being search only should be an option, this sucks because I really liked it when it was actually organized. But, to be completely honest, I do not know if this is an option, please tell me if it is an option, because I really need it organized.

I never liked the search option, it was absolutely useless unless you couldn't find something. I would rather the search option get removed than the actual ORGANIZED stuff. I needed that a lot

Recipe unlocking is becoming frustrating to turn off in Bedrock as it is a lot of pops in each new world.
The new search doesn’t take kids into consideration at all.
If wanting to find a comparator, typing tor was very useful to my child in survival mode.
The old search was fine, did not overload players and actually showed new items that should be built or investigated. The new search doesn’t cater to the majority of Minecraft players, put politely the old search was better for those who could not spell.
    It is a degredation.

The old search system was good. I definitely prefer it more. It helped you find an item if you didn't remember its name.
