Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Custom Model Data or Custom Block Data for Minecraft Java Edition

I know this post may have been repeated a couple of times, but I know that the community for java edition developers would love this feature. It would be nice to have the parity that bedrock has with custom block geometry and since items have custom model data it would be nice to have it for blocks as well. it would help the java community so much with making actual "mods" with datapacks and with minimal coding experience.
