When copper was announced for the game, the lightning rod was an immediate must aswell
And mojang's justification for it was that griefing in a minecraft world shall always fall on the player's own responsability, and never should be random
A creeper's explosion is result of a player not being careful enough, a waterstream destroying your redstone is result of a player not protecting the circuit with some blocks that could protect against water... and so on
This is also why natural disasters, such as tornadoes and volcanos will never be added to the game
And as a builder, I'm obviously grateful of such choice, but the question still remains...
What about the enderman?
It slowly scrambles your world block by block and destroys the terraforming made by players... And many builders do enjoy terraforming the world using a nice palette... For example a mix of moss and grass with some jungle leaves in it, to really make the terrain nice to the eye
Is it really justified for the enderman to grief your world slowly, piece by piece?
Sure, enderman grabbing blocks is part of their nature... Removing it would remove part of what makes it the mob that it is
But if that's it, then what about the "griefing shall never be random" rule?
Maybe the answer isn't that of removing its ability, but to simply add some kind endgame protection device for your builds... Some kind of block made from copper and echo shards maybe? That protects your world from enderman/ghast griefing in a defined radius?
