There’s already a variety of fog types specific to certain biomes, each bringing a unique atmosphere to them. If programmed as a thunderstorm without rain, it can be used as dynamic weather, and in regions where it doesn’t rain (deserts), a brown/yellow fog with sand particles can be applied to simulate sandstorms, but I want to apply this beyond natural weather. It would be interesting if a player could create their own fog to enhance their builds/environments using beacons, an item that already has mechanics in manipulating rain. Similar to the fog that a shrieker produces with darkness, placing a shrieker above or below the beacon would produce the opposite of a beam of light and distill fog in the surrounding area. New items can be loaded into the beacon or a new type of shrieker(crying obsidian+shrieker?) to change color of the permanent fog, such as a ghast tear for white fog from basalt deltas, warped fungus/root for magenta fog, crimson fungus for crimson fog, wither rose for black fog, etc. This could be thematically added to a dimensions update to allow players to play with the mystery & magic of this world.
