Rarity of caverns

I believe that massive caverns are too common in the Minecraft overworld - it can feel like the underground is one gigantic cave system that endlessly extends from world border to world border due to the fact that the cave systems are so common that they intertwine and interconnect with one another. I believe that cave systems - especially large caverns in particular - need to be made somewhat rarer, probably by about 15-40% or so.
