Make Chainmail and Leather Be Able To Be Put Under Other Armor

In real life chainmail was used to protect from slashing attacks. I think this concept should be used in Minecraft. I think you should be able to combine chainmail and another type of other armor in either a crafting or smiting table, and then you will be protected more from sword and sweep attacks. Since each armor type has its own unique durability I think when ever the chainmail is effective, so when being attacked by a sword or sweep attack, it will take damage but will not when being attacked another way, like with a bow. When the chainmail under the armor breaks you can just replace it with more chainmail. With this I think it would be nice to get a chainmail recipe, using actual chains. For the leather armor it would be the same as putting chainmail underneath except it slightly prevent all knockback, even when under netherite. I also think that base chainmail and leather armor should hold these properties. Hopefully this gets seen, and if it does, hello.
