The spectral arrow only highlights mobs that are already in your line of sight, it’s only practical use is to highlight entities that have triggered a dispenser trap. It would be more useful if the spectral arrow (or a variation of it) highlighted mobs based on sounds they made around the arrow using sculk sensing mechanics. This could be done by adding an echo shard to the arrow on a crafting or fletching table. One with glow stone would highlight mobs and, alternatively, one with red stone would turn it into a projectile sculk sensor(a bit complex if considering calibrated arrows to sounds that the specific mob shot makes). Being able to highlight mobs behind walls is an incredibly useful/powerful mechanic for finding spawners or underground cave areas, rightfully reserved behind one of the hardest areas in the game. It’s not a necessary gameplay mechanic, but it would be interesting to consider when/if bringing over spectral arrows to bedrock.
