Tree rings should not be visible unless the tree is chopped

All trees in the game have an open-ended log(s) at least somewhere. Take acacia and the new cherry trees for example; the rings are immediately visible as if the tree has been cut open. Minecraft biomes are beautiful and there are so many unique trees, but I think, not just for realism sake but for aesthetic appeal, that the rings ought to be closed off as are the internal bits of brown mushroom blocks for instance, and full log blocks do exist so it could most certainly be done.
