G= Guardians P= Prismarine
This suggestion is about the renewability of P, the block set is in a weird place with its renewability, it is far from unrenewable yet it feels quite inaccesible, to obtain more u either have to conquer more monuments, tediously fight G, or make a powerful farm. I do not feel like making G drop more items would help, automatic farms are good enough, making them easier ruins the initial challenge. This suggestion proposes that G will replace missing blocks in their home structure (while the gold core is intact), they would do this by finding a place a block should be, filling that space, and entering an "inactive mode" where they become that block. I am fond of this idea because it adds a gameplay function to the gold core of the temple, it also adds mystique and a new way to obtain P. I believe it fits with what is already established with G as all P is crafted with materials dropped only by G, as well as it fitting with the idea of preservation pushed by the mining fatigue effect the elder G grants. I do not believe it would be intrusive as most players will have looted this treasure, or blocked G from spawning where this would effect them, if this is not enough a new block could be added to introduce this function. This wouldn't take away from other ocean monuments and could even add to it, the G would not replace sponge, and elder G would not respawn, that means that sponges, tide trims, and the mob itself would remain limited.
