Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Add bamboo charcoal!

Charcoal made from bamboo is widely used in East Asia. Just as you can burn wood to make charcoal, you should be able to burn bamboo blocks to make bamboo charcoal!

    Unnecessary, wood is very easy to obtain to make charcoal.

    I could see it being continuous for using the full block to make charcoal, which is pretty easy to datapack if Mojang disagrees, given that in a typical game there's another wood type not to far from spawn.

    This is a great idea. Bamboo is more easily farmable. Plus some servers banned tnt duping, so u cant use wood farms. Thats ehy bamboo wood should be able to smelt into charcoal.

    I think it would be great seeing how easy it is to make an automatic bamboo farm. I really hope they add this to the game one day.

    This would be extremely useful for torch farms. In order to automatically harvest trees you need to blow them up. If I could use bamboo I would only need a piston, so I could hook a bamboo farm to a torch farm and have it be much smaller.

    If bamboo blocks are being treated like wood blocks and are able to be used as fuel then they should also be able to be burnt into charcoal just like wood blocks.
