They're not an official boss to battle, so they won't be given one.

I think the only thing the warden is missing for boss qualification is a way to heal. Maybe it should cause mobs to drop xp and be able to pick it up, therefore healing itself.

Yeah, I think if a player attacks the warden they should feel like they're making progress.
