For a Mapmaker could it be a useful feature to define own blocks as "slippery" causing players, but also mobs to slide over them for a bit when they stop moving. Essentially what (packed) ice does, but appliable to all blocks.
The best way I can think of would be a new block tag called is_slippery that can be added. If present, the client (or server depending on who needs to handle this) would treat the block similar to ice, causing the entity to slide over it.
