I believe there should be a new type of "Explorer Map" sold by Villagers to assist in location Trail Ruins, as they are very easy to miss if you aren't keeping a very close eye.

It would aid some players who are struggling with finding them in their worlds, but keep the "rarity" of them still as high, if players simply do not want to buy the maps.

Glazed Terracotta Sculptures will generate in a structure section beneath Trail Ruins in 2 by 4, 4 by 4 or 3 by 3 layout. You can loot them by breaking the Top part of it which is Helmet and Chestplate and Bottom part being the Pants and Boots with a "Chisel" crafted from Dripstone and two Copper Ingots these Sculptures hold Gold or Copper Weapons or Tools, they Oxide just like the Blocks with and they have a chance of being dropped depending on the oxidation state looted from the top part of the sculpture. The Armour Pieces which forms the Sculpture are based of the texture and colour palette of Glazed Terracotta Blocks but the Terracotta Armour Pieces cannot be crafted and but can be dropped on a Dripstone stalagmite placed below the block the sculpture is on and then break that block and the sculpture breaks and becomes an item that can be placed like an Armour Stand and the player can change the pose of the sculpture with a redstone powering the block the sculpture is placed on.

I don't think it's worth breaking your shovel, brush, and pickaxe just to get a wooden hoe and some glass panes.  The loot tables on this thing should be better.

Honestly I think the design could be better as other comments have mentioned it has a very ugly color palette and I also feel that the structure is made very random, it is a good idea but it is poorly executed.

I love minecraft and the ideas of all the community, but it looks like a structure grieffed by some one and later a 3 years old rebuilt it with some clay, dirt, sand, gravel and terracotta

more exclusive loot would be great like new dyes or a broken weapon you can repair

since there are only limited colores when it comes to buildingblocks there could be some more:

    fuchsia, lavender, verdant, peach, babyblue

these all are just missing colors that would fill the gaps of color gradients very wel

As another user said, I think the trail ruins are pretty ugly at the moment! Also, another user suggested that the blocks that make up the structure change, according to which biome the structure spawns. I really like this idea! I mean it makes sense if this structure was created along time ago by people who lived in this area, wouldn’t they create the structure out of blocks from that area? Another user suggested that they not spawn underwater. I will agree with this, unless they spawn with the suggestion of changing the blocks to things within that biome. For example, when they spawn underwater, they could include blocks such as prismarine, sand, gravel, coral, and glass! Also I think the structure should be built in a way that you can walk through it like a desert temple. You would walk out onto the road/trail/path. It should look cool enough to encourage people to want to live there and alter it like villages. Otherwise, as another user said people will learn where to loot it and leave. They need a reason to excavate the whole structure!

I honestly don't find the structure ugly at all. If you remove all the other blocks and then recreate it as best you can. That means removing all the dirt and so on and adding terracotta blocks in the right places. You get a very nice structure. But I would like it if, apart from the armour templates, there were other valuable things to be found.

I think this is pretty good

Everyone is saying how its very ugly, but what did you expect a ruined building would look like?

Its a nice structure and the colors that the structures are made of really help make it easier to find so it wont take forever to spot and also make it look man made

The dirt, sand and gravel that cover the structure really add the feeling that it was buried under the ground for a long time

The ruins are almost impossible to find in survival now. The last one I found after doing a search for coordinates and had to dig over 20 blocks down before locating anything. It would be cool if they were closer to the surface and less spread out. Realistically ruins aren't usually buried very deep and are often found just below the surface . Also they seem to be more intact below the surface than above because they don't have weather eroding them and wouldn't be spread out all over.

I feel like the feature is kinda under used. With the only new items from participating in archeology being the vase. Perhaps some new kinda of tools, or decorations would be nice

I love the idea, but as many have already stated, it has been poorly executed. As they are now, they do not resemble much of anything. Imo, they should resemble more of a village of sorts. Considering how large the ocean monuments, strongholds, ancient city structures, and even the mineshafts are, it would be reasonable to make these ruins much larger. As they are now, they are just too small to be considered living quarters or work areas of a time in the past. They are not convincing enough to add to the lore. As regards to the loot table, I understand what the creators were shooting for with wooden tools. However, as has already been expressed numerous time, much of the loot is really just a bunch of clutter. Someone made the suggestion about finding rarities like prisma marine. That would be really cool! Lastly the biomes these are found in. Absolutely awful! Considering the builds are sand, terracotta and glazed terracotta, it would make much more sense to have these in the badland, (messa) biome. That is a biome that needs some development - please! Those are some of my favorite colors!

Have them connected, I still can't unearth the whole thing even after going into spectator mode, and along with all the useless things in the gravel at the tip of the iceberg, maybe also have a sherd or trim to encourage people to continue going down.

honestly, its boring. Its easier to get the items from other methods. perhaps adding a new item such as stealth boots that perhaps decrease sound by running to sneak on mobs. something like that would get me interseted.

I feel like its idea of a fun structure to dig through has been achieved with some interesting loot, so I’m not going to complain. I say well done. This is fun to look around.

I don't know why everyone thinks it's ugly. I think trail ruins look perfect.

Personally I love the idea of trail ruins, however i feel the overall execution of the structure is lacking. For instance, I saw a video of a person who excavated and mined out all the sand and gravel from the structure, and it looked absolutely amazing! But this was only AFTER excavation, meaning the good looks of said structure are buried by way to much sand and gravel, destroying any aesthetic appeal to the structure. Not to mention the fact that there isnt too many valuable things other than trims that you get from brushing sand and gravel.

So how do we fix this? First of all lets tackle the aesthetic problem. Currently, the whole thing is buried, and there is not even a clue to as what this thing was in it's prime. So what about we change the trail ruin to look more like an abandoned mineshaft, its still buried, and you have to dig down through the central "pile" but once inside, it is hollow. Inside it looks like a mineshaft with some of the hallways having collapsed and filled by brush-able sand and gravel. this would fix the structure aesthetically.

    And then add better loot.

The Trail Ruins don't look well, and look fairly ugly. I also think they aren't worth going through, since they can take quite some time to do and the loot is underwhelming. Maybe the Trail Ruins should be changed to match the aesthetic if the biome they're in.

I would spend much more time excavating them if the loot tables for suspicious gravel were buffed!

Trail Ruins look fine as they are, but we definitely need the loot tables for suspicious gravel to be tweaked. Either remove some of the junk loot tables, or make them less common. No player wants to spend half an hour carefully excavating a trail ruin just to end up with a bunch of green candles, gold nuggets, magenta stained glass panes, and one maybe two shards/discs.

Trail ruins is a great addition! I would also like to see a variety of loot depending on the structure. Some will have more loot related to blacksmithing (pick, metals, coal, armor parts), while others will have more agriculture (hoe, seeds, crops). This could give more uniqueness to each structure with the same set of loot and the history of each trail ruins would be deeper.

More special items in the sand,
On the subject you should make sand be hoeable into suspicious sand, then if you tap the suspicious sand what you are holding goes into the sand
