Ancient Ginkgo Tree for the Sniffer

Ginkgo is a tree with yellow foliage and a thick trunk that is on the verge of extinction in real life. It is also called "Living Fossil". A sniffer could dig seedlings of this tree out of the ground. These seedlings will need to be expressed longer than other types of seedlings to obtain a new type of wood.

  This is such a good idea!! Ginkgos aren't just *almost* extinct, it's very likely that they already have gone extinct in the wild and only exist as cultivated trees (there are groves that may have wild trees, but it's also likely that they were simply planted a long time ago by humans). Having the sniffer dig them up would be a nice way to implement them as such, repopulating the overworld with a tree that was lost to memory aside from a few buried seeds is such a fun and interesting prospect.

  In real life, fallen ginkgo leaves grow a species of small mushroom called "bartheletia" that grows only on them and is as much of a living fossil as ginkgos themselves. Maybe ginkgo leaves could be made into a mulch layer that grows tiny harvestable mushrooms based off of them over time.
