Tree Ferns: Prehistoric trees, found by the Sniffer

Idea for the Sniffer: They could dig up saplings for an ancient kind of tree: Tree Ferns, from the Carboniferous. Bark should have a scale pattern, quite distinct from all existing trees. Wood color should be green, pretty much the only primary color not yet represented by a wood set. Leaves should look, well, fern-like.

Perhaps the Sniffer could only dig up tree fern saplings, after being given a fern by the player.

Edit: Apparently they're called tree ferns, not fern trees

    Something I've always wanted if a palm tree was added, and I think would work equally well for a fern tree, is for the leaf blocks to be half-slabs. It makes sense for the long flat leaves and would offer a green half-slab which the game is still lacking.

    Tree Fern Spores found only in grass and podzol.

    These would grow on farmland into a sapling of sorts, a tree fern shoot.

    Then can be either eventual or bone meal grown into my green wood, finally my green wood.

    I notice that would be a third wood-set record-breaking for a single update though.

    Great idea. Sniffer is very cool mob, it will be shame if it's only purpose in the game is give the player one new kind of decorative and otherwise useless plant. At least three or four and yes, fern trees is perfect variant.

    Tree fern logs could have the unique property of smelting to coal instead of charcoal. Not exactly realistic, but still educational, since that's the kind of tree that fossilized to actual coal.
